About & licenses
d20 Arena is a 5E compatible combat arena. AI controls every fighter, while a deterministic engine resolves the rules. You choose the matchup and watch it unfold.

๐ Privacy and terms
d20 Arena is a fan project. This page says, in plain words, what the game keeps about you and what we agree on.
If you play without an account (Wood league)
- We ask for no name, no e-mail and no password.
- Your fights stay on the server for up to 24 hours, then they are gone. They do not carry your name.
- Your internet address (IP) is used for a short time, only to stop abuse, such as too many fights in a row. It may show up in the server's security records.
- Your browser keeps, on your device only, your preferences (language, sound) and the list of your last fights.
- The exception: a sample of these fights (the fighters, the moves and the result) is kept to make the game's AI better, without your address, without the time of day and with nothing that says who played.
If you have an account
- We keep your username, your e-mail, your password (scrambled in a way that not even we can read), the nickname you choose and your progress: fights, XP, achievements and ranking.
- The e-mail identifies the account and lets you sign in. We send no advertising and give your e-mail to nobody.
- The e-mail identifies the account, lets you sign in and, once you confirm it, recovers your password. We write to it only about your account: no advertising.
- The ranking shows only the nickname you chose.
- What you write in suggestions and fight feedback is read by us and by an AI, to make the game better.
- A cookie keeps you signed in. When you sign in, the server records the time and the internet address, for security.
- These security records are kept for up to 30 days.
- Accounts are for people aged 18 or older.
Who else takes part
- The narration of some fights is written by AI, on a third-party service. It receives the moves of the fight, never data about you.
- If you play at playd20arena.com, everything goes through Cloudflare, the service that delivers the site: on the way it sees your internet address and all that comes and goes, your password included. The game gives it nothing else about you.
- The messages about your account are delivered by an e-mail service, which receives your address and the message, and nothing else.
- We use no ads and no third-party trackers.
Your rights
- You can ask to see, correct or erase your data, and to close your account. Talk to the Admin by private message on d20 Arena's Instagram or YouTube.
- If you ask us to delete your account, it leaves the game at once. The backups still hold the data for up to 6 months, and then drop it.
- Lost your password? There is no automatic recovery, because the e-mail is not confirmed. Message the Admin on the d20 Arena Instagram or YouTube, who checks a few details of the account with you before changing the password.
- Lost your password? With a confirmed e-mail, use "Forgot your password?" on the sign-in page. Without one, message the Admin, who checks a few details of the account with you before changing the password.
- You can also write to the Admin by e-mail: contact@playd20arena.com
Terms of use
- The game is free, offered as it is, and may change or go offline.
- Play fair: do not try to take the server down, to get around the limits or to enter someone else's account.
- The fights are resolved by AI. Nobody controls a fighter during a fight.
- The rules are those of the SRD 5.2.1 (CC-BY-4.0), with the attribution on the "About & licenses" page. The game is "5E compatible" and has no tie to the publisher of the rules. The art, the mascots and the texts belong to d20 Arena.
- What you send as a suggestion may be used to make the game better.

Rules-lawyer approved
Every rule here is checked by The Rules 5.5e, our rules-lawyer AI. It audits real fights against the 2024 rules, so the table argues less and rolls more.
Your fights help: what it finds goes back into the engine, and the fighters' AI gets smarter.

Set up the match
The AI controls every fighter, on both sides. You set up SIDE A and SIDE B (up to 6 each), pick the arena, the distance and the formation, press WATCH, read the preview on the arena screen and watch the fight the engine has already resolved.

โ๏ธ Advanced options
You are the coach: choose each side's tactics and test what works on this map, against these opponents.
The style changes how the AI fights; the engine's legal options are the same for everyone.
๐ Series
The same match several times, with seeds derived from the seed in the advanced options (empty = random). Shows each side's win percentage with the 95% interval, the rounds, the per-fighter statistics and the most used spells and resources. No AI narration; each fight in the list opens again with the same seed.
The server resolves the fights one after another, without AI narration. This screen updates by itself.
